Cihangir Cool for Cats was created as a network to help cats and other street animals in the Cihangir area of Istanbul
Cihangir is famous for its felines, and locals often leave food and water out for the street animals. Some restaurants have a relaxed attitude to the cats and actively encourage them to join the diners.
Sadly, not everyone feels so charitable towards the street animals, and we fight a constant battle against ignorance and cruelty.
Self-funded, we rely on donations to enable us to continue our rescue project, lost and found, fosters, adoptions and re-homing and have also identified, caught and neutered as many street animals as we’ve been able, given our limited size and resources.
Our 'Neuter and Release' scheme is in addition to the project to help sick animals who either have inherent problems or who've been hurt in accidents.
We now also fundraise with our range of CCfCs products in the local veterinary clinics and pet shops, and host regular trivia quiz fundraisers and special events such as karaoke nights.
Our events and our products raise funds to help give these animals a better life, but our work never stops so your support is vital.
